Kiran Desai wins Booker Prize
London, Oct 12 2006: Kiran Desai, daughter of prominent Indian origin writer Anita Desai, created literary history by becoming the youngest ever woman to win the prestigious Man Booker Prize for her book "The Inheritance of Loss" at the age of 35.
Kiran won the 50,000 pounds prize Tuesday night for her second book, described by reviewers as a "radiant, funny and moving family saga" and 'the best, sweetest, most delightful novel'.

Shanker V Rao founded SoshaCom in 2002 and is currently the President of SoshaCom Corporation. In his present role, Shanker has been responsible for initiating market strategies in Asia and Africa. He is also responsible for strategic decisions that affect the day-to-day functioning of the company.
A weathered, multi-disciplinary, manager speaking four languages, Shanker has more than 25 years of experience in telecommunications. He has worked as a senior policy advisor for Canada's Secretary of state and Solicitor general. In 1997, he became VP business development & marketing for HalifaxTel International. He then went to AVAYA Communication where he acted as senior manager. An entrepreneur by heart, Shanker has founded many services and consultation companies. Shanker is the recipient of a Political Science and Law licence and a Communication major from Concordia University.
